Veteran Scholarships
2nd LT. Jered Ewy (AVY) Endowed Military Scholarship, UCO Foundation
Established December 2011 by Andy and Sara Burnett.
To Apply: Must be a student serving in the military or student previously enlisted and honorably or medically discharged; complete application and transcript; minimum 2.75 GPA; U.S. citizen, $1,500 is awarded. The annual $1,500 award will be presented at the spring assembly in the college the recipient is majoring in.
Robert Aldridge Armed Forces Scholarship, UCO Foundation
Established in October 2010 by Robert Aldridge and the Tom & Mary Kate Aldridge Foundation.
To Apply: Complete application and transcript, must be a full time student with a minimum GPA 2.5. For application purposes you must be:
- Active military or veteran who is honorably or medically discharged and/or a member of the National Guard.
- A member the Military Order of the Purple Heart.
- A student whose education has been interrupted by a call to active duty.
- A student currently serving in the armed forces or the National or Air Guard of Oklahoma.
$2,000 will be donated annually by Tom and Mary Kate Aldridge Foundation. Hillary Ashton worked with Robert Aldridge to establish this scholarship. All writings must be written to Bob Aldridge.
Army ROTC
The University of Central Oklahoma Army Reserve Officer’s Training Corps (ROTC) is a program designed to develop and train prospective Army officers. College students can take ROTC classes and participate in related activities along with their normal college degree program. Becoming an officer cadet, and learning valuable leadership skills will help graduates become well-suited for either a military or civilian job.
