General Information

The HESI A2 Entrance Exam is the admissions exam for all applicants of the UCO Nursing program. The exam may only be taken once per application cycle. If you have questions regarding application submission, please contact the UCO Department Of Nursing at 405-974-5000. It is recommended that only potential UCO Nursing students take this exam as we only administer selected portions of the HESI A2. You will be given a total of 3 hours and 55 minutes to complete the exam. We have provided the suggested testing times for each portion. They are as follows:

Test Portion and Suggested Time Per Section

  • Reading Comprehension,  60 minutes
  • Vocabulary, 50 minutes
  • Grammar, 50 minutes
  • Math Basics, 50 minutes
  • Anatomy and Physiology, 25 minutes

Total Questions: 250
Total Time: 3 hours 55 minutes

No physical calculators allowed. There will be one programmed into the exam.

You will need to create an Evolve account BEFORE taking the test. Select ‘Register for Results and Remediation’ and complete the registration process. Be sure to know your account username and password before your test date.

If you wish to prepare for the HESI A2, you may purchase a study guide. They can be ordered through your Evolve account.


The fee for the exam is non-refundable and is payable online only. To register or see the price of the exam, click on the "Register" button.

On Exam Day

  • Students must bring a valid, government-issued photo ID.
  • For non-UCO students, bring money for the visitor parking lot. The kiosks accept credit/debit cards. If you bring cash, please be aware the machines do not distribute change.
  • Check-in time will begin 15 minutes before the scheduled time of the exam. Late arrivals will not be admitted.


This list includes, but is not limited to, cell phones, purses, hats, watches, Fitbits, glasses with built-in electronics, or any other electronic devices. Personal calculators are not permitted for the HESI A2 exam, however, an electronic calculator will be embedded into the computer exam for use. If the student arrives at the testing center possessing any of these items, they must store them in a locker provided by the testing center.
