Extra-Institutional Credit
General Information
Extra-Institutional credit can be obtained through CLEP, DSST and departmental examinations. These extra-institutional examinations are only available for undergraduate credit.
A student may not test out of a course in which he or she is currently enrolled. Credit will be recorded with a neutral grade of P (pass) if the student earns a passing score. No grade is recorded if the student fails the exam. A failed CLEP or Departmental exam may be repeated after three months have elapsed. A failed DSST exam may be repeated after thirty days have elapsed.
Attention UCO students!
The maximum number of extra-institutional credit hours allowed is 42 and includes all forms of prior learning assessments.
