Thanksgiving Break, NOV. 23-25: Classes Canceled, Offices Closed.:

The Max Chambers Library will be open 7:30 a.m.-10 p.m., Nov. 22., 7:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Nov. 23 and will be closed Nov. 24-26. The Wellness Center will be closed Nov. 23-27 and will resume normal hours Nov. 28.

Campus mail services are provided to departments on campus through a partnership between R.K. Black and Central Receiving. All departmental mail is received and delivered by Central Receiving, with billing coordinated by R.K. Black.

Outgoing Mail and Packages

Outbound mail and packages will be collected on the morning mail runs.  All off campus mail and USPS and DHL packages will be dropped off at R.K. Black. Mail dropped off prior to 3 p.m. will be processed the same day. Mail dropped off at R.K. Black after 3 p.m. may be processed the following day. Packages from UPS, FedEx Express, and FedEx Ground will be taken to Central Receiving for pick up the following day.

All outbound off campus mail must be accompanied by an Outgoing Mail Request. For questions regarding off campus outgoing mail, contact R.K. Black at 974-2732. 

Departments that have large volumes of outgoing mail (multiple trays) or multiple large boxes should email receiving@uco.edu or call ext. 2491 to have that picked up as soon as possible for processing.

Interoffice Mail

All interoffice mail (department to department mail) collected on mail runs will be delivered to the appropriate campus address the following business day. When sending mail to the entire campus, please bind all like box numbers together to assist in a speedy and accurate distribution of the mail.

When utilizing an interoffice envelope, ensure it is appropriately addressed by marking out previous addresses and including the following on a new line:

  • First and Last Name of the Addressee
  • Department Name
  • Campus Box Number (found in the Campus Directory

When utilizing a standard envelope, ensure it is clearly identified as interoffice mail and separate from USPS mail and marked with the following:

  • First and Last Name of the Addressee
  • Department Name
  • Campus Box Number (found in the Campus Directory)

When a faculty or staff member transfers to another department or separates from the University, it is the department's responsibility to notify Central Receiving of the individual's new location by emailing receiving@uco.edu or calling ext. 2491.  

Departments that have large volumes of Interoffice mail (multiple trays) or multiple large boxes should email receiving@uco.edu or call ext. 2491 to have that picked up as soon as possible for processing.

Incoming Mail and Packages

USPS mail and packages will be delivered each morning between 9 a.m. and 12 p.m. Packages from UPS, FedEx Express, FedEx Ground, and other carriers will be delivered in the afternoon. Deliveries requiring special accommodations will be arranged with the intended recipient. 

Shipments are received between the hours of 8 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Monday through Friday at the Central Receiving loading dock, located in the Facilities Management building on the north end of campus.

When trying to locate a package, please complete the following steps: 

  1. Track your package on the carrier's website to verify that Central Receiving has received your package. 
  2. If you have confirmed Central Receiving has received your package, email receiving@uco.edu or call ext. 2491 with your tracking number and any other information you have. 

Please keep in mind that while you may receive a delivery notification from a carrier, your shipment may still be in process on campus. Please be patient and allow 24-48 business hours for on campus processing and delivery. 

Items That Cannot be Delivered by Central Receiving

The following items will not be delivered by Central Receiving due to the nature of the items and the increased liability/responsibility associated with delivering them:

  • Televisions
  • Appliances
  • Furniture (depending on size and weight)
  • Items with large amounts of glass
  • High value items
