International Enrollment Requirements 

 

Enrollment is Vital to Maintain F-1 and J-1 Status 

Visa holders are responsible for meeting course enrollment requirements.

  • Undergraduate students must enroll in 12 credit hours
  • Graduate students must enroll in nine credit hours

Undergraduate Students

  • Minimum credits required: 12 credit hours 
  • Minimum in-person credits: nine credit hours 

Graduate Students

  • Minimum credits required: nine credit hours 
  • Minimum in-person credits: six credit hours 

Graduate Student with an Assistantship (TA or RA)

  • Minimum credits required: six credit hours 
  • Minimum in-person credits: three credit hours 

One 100% online class is allowed per semester. For any other variations seek advice and approval from your DSO.

Reduced course load may be approved in any of the following categories:

  • Enrollment during final semester;
  • New documented medical issues that arise during the semester (e.g. accident, hospitalization, etc.); or, 
  • First semester difficulties.

Concurrent Enrollment (Dual Enrollment)

Students are allowed part-time enrollment at another school while attending UCO. Approval of academic advisor and DSO is required.

Concurrent enrollment may be used to meet the full-time requirement.
