Employment
F-1 and J-1 students are eligible to work on campus. In order to work on campus, students must be enrolled full time. Employment is limited to 20 hours per week during regular semesters. Students may work more than 20 hours during vacation periods.
F-1 On-Campus Employment
Student jobs are available at the university from the posting site or through private companies, which provide services on the UCO campus. These include the UCO Dining Services, UCO Bookstore and custodial service. When applying online, students can use their UCO ID. The job offer is used to apply for Social Security Number (SSN) for those who do not have one.
An on-campus employment offer has to be approved by the Office of Global Affairs to be compliant with immigration regulations. This approval is processed between a campus employer and OGA.
Students are not allowed to work beyond the degree completion (the last day of class).

J-1 On-Campus Employment
With approval from an ARO or an RO, J-1 students are able to participate in on-campus employment for 20 hours or less per week. In order to get approval for employment please complete the Employment Approval Form.
