Book your Flight

It is recommended that flights be booked as early as possible to secure the best airfare cost and schedule. Be sure to inform your travel agent that the final destination is Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. The name of the airport is Will Rogers World Airport with airport code “OKC.”

UCO Office of Global Affairs offers free airport pickup service for all new international students. Once you have confirmed your flight arrangement, complete the UCO airport pickup registration form.

Free Airport Pickup Service Schedule

Spring 2024 semester: Jan. 8-14, 2024, (Upon receiving your airport pickup request, OGA will determine whether we are able to accommodate the request)

If you are arriving outside of free pickup hours, collect your baggage and go to Ground Transportation Services outside the terminal. You will need to hire a shuttle service to arrive at your final destination.

If you are arriving for the summer semester, UCO does not offer any airport pickup service.

Immunization, Vaccination Record and Tuberculosis (TB) Testing

Oklahoma state law requires all students who attend UCO for the first time to provide proof of immunization with mumps, measles, rubella (MMR) and Hepatitis B vaccines as well as a negative Tuberculosis (TB) test result. If you received immunizations since birth, you may bring the immunization form provided below to a certified medical professional to certify the immunization dates. If you have not received any immunization record in the past, it is strongly recommended that you complete your immunization procedure and obtain your TB test results prior to departure. In most cases, it is more affordable to obtain the vaccines and complete the TB tests in your home country as compared to obtaining the vaccines and TB test in the United States. Be aware you will not be able to enroll for your classes at UCO until the immunization and TB test requirements are fulfilled.

Once your record is made available for submission, please use the election forms as below:
Immunization/vaccination submission
TB test results

All international students (F-1 or J-1) are required to purchase health insurance.

  • Undergraduate J-1 non-degree seeking student (visiting or exchange Student) -Contact Andrew Hill, UCO Korea office manager.
  • Graduate degree and non-degree seeking student - Contact your international admissions advisor at igrad@uco.edu.
ATTENTION: When contacting your advisor, provide your full name as listed on your UCO student portal and your UCO identification number (*20xxxxxx). Do not forget to attach a copy of your passport photo page or government-issued identification (in English) with a photo for verification purposes.

Pack Your Bags

It is never easy to know what you should and shouldn't bring when you travel to UCO for the first time. You should contact International Student Council leaders to seek their advice since they have been through what you are going through now.

Make sure you check with your airline for baggage allowance and guidelines. Remember always to carry all important documents and cash and not put them in check-in baggage.

Tuition Payment Policy

Starting January 2024,  international students will no longer be required to make an upfront prepayment of $9,000 for their tuition.

While this new policy provides flexibility, we strongly encourage you to consider paying your tuition upfront. By doing so, you can avoid potential interest penalties and ensure that your financial responsibilities for the semester or year are settled promptly.

Optional Payment Plan: For students who may find it challenging to pay the full amount upfront, we are allowing first-time students to opt into a payment plan. This plan will allow students to spread out their tuition payments over three to four months.

First Day of Class

The University of Central Oklahoma offers three different entry terms, which include fall (August), spring (January) and summer (June). We encourage all new students to arrive before the orientation date or no later than the first day of class. The first day of class can be hectic and as a result, we encourage students to arrive a few days earlier to get accustomed to the new environment before class begins.
