Required Documents
To be admitted as an international freshman, you will need to supply the following:
- Online Application;
- Application Fee;
- Academic Credentials (Transcripts);
- English Proficiency;
- Bank Statement;
- Passport; and,
- Statement of Financial Sponsorship.
*If you are seeking for admissions into the undergraduate degree offered by the UCO School of Music, you will be required to submit the International Audition Submission Form.
All required documents will be uploaded with your electronic application. Any missing documents will delay the processing of your application.
Application Fee
The $40 international admission fee is required for your application for admission to be finalized by your admissions advisor. This fee is non-refundable.
- Digital admissions packet via email (free). U.S. Embassy now is accepting digital Form I-20 for visa application due to COVID-19 concerns. This is subject to change without advanced noticed.
- Hard copy admissions packet via FedEx (mailing charge of $55.00).
For J-1 visiting or exchange student admissions packet, a hard copy delivery via FedEx is required.

Academic Credentials (Transcript)
Freshman without Transfer Credits
Submit proof of completion of a level equivalent to 12 years of education in the U.S. by uploading an original copy of your academic records with an official stamp or seal on the document(s) from your school or by uploading an attested copy verified by an authorized agency. Depending on when you completed high school, additional information may be needed to process your immigration documents.Students with Previous College Credits
Submit all the official transcripts with an official stamp or seal on the documents from your current and previous colleges or universities or by uploading an attested copy verified by an authorized agency. If you are seeking to take upper-level courses at UCO that requires pre-requisites courses, you are required the syllabus/course descriptions to show proof of the pre-requisite courses you have completed.
If your transcript is issued by your institution in a language other than English, we require the official, original language document as well as an official, or certified, English translation.
Failure to submit all the transcripts for all the college coursework can be used as a ground for your termination from the University of Central Oklahoma (UCO).
While digital copies of transcripts will be used to make an admission decision, official transcripts must be received by UCO upon arrival to the US.Proof of English Proficiency - Undergraduate
- TOEFL - 61 IBT (Internet-based test) or 500 PBT (paper-based test);
- IELTS - 5.5 overall band;
- Duolingo - 85;
- PTE Academic - 42; or,
- Proof of 12 weeks of intensive English study at an approved ESL program in the U.S. after achieving a minimum TOEFL score of 460 (PBT) or 48 (IBT) or minimum IELTS overall band of 5.0 or Duolingo of 80 or PTE Academic of 36.

Proof of English Proficiency - Graduate
- TOEFL - 79 IBT (Internet-based test) or 550 PBT (paper-based test);
- IELTS - 6.5 overall band;
- Proof of 12 weeks of intensive English study at an approved ESL program in the U.S. after achieving a minimum TOEFL score of 500 (PBT) or 61 (IBT); or,
- Transcripts showing your undergraduate degree was completed from an accredited university or college within the United States or from a UCO-approved native English-speaking country.

Bank Statement
Attach an official or certified bank statement with an issuance date of no less than six months from your application for admission submission date. The minimum amount of funds required to be shown on the financial statement varies by visa type. See below for more information:
- F-1 Degree Seeking Students: Student -$ 26,300; Spouse - add $ 8,000; Children - add $ 4,000 each
- J-1 Visiting Students: Exchange Student
- One Semester: Student - $ 4,500; Spouse - add $ 6,000; Children $ 4,000 each
- Two Semesters: Student - $ 9,000; Spouse - add $ 6,000; Children $ 4,000 each
- J-1 Visiting Students: Visiting or Study USA student
- One Semester: Student -$13,150; Spouse - add $ 6,000; Children $ 4,000 each
- Two Semesters: Student -$26,300; Spouse - add $ 6,000; Children $ 4,000 each
Passport
Provide a copy of the page on your passport that contains your photo. If you do not have a passport available yet, submit official government-issued photo identification. It must be in English.
If dependents will accompany you to UCO, provide copies of their passport biographic pages, along with marriage and birth certificates, as applicable, to verify your family relationship.
Statement of Financial Sponsorship
Sponsor Living Outside the United States
If full or partial funding is coming from personal sources (for example, family, relatives or personal sponsors), the Certificate of Financial Resource form must be completed by both the applicant and their sponsor and submitted with the required supporting documents verifying the sponsor's financial ability to cover at least the educational costs of two semesters - see costs listed with bank statement information.

Sponsor Living in the United States
The form I-134 Affidavit of Support must be completed if the sponsor or guarantor lives in the United States with the required supporting documents verifying the sponsor's financial ability to cover at least the educational costs of two semesters - see costs listed with bank statement information. The completed form will need to be notarized prior to submission.
Financial Support from Third Party (Sponsoring agency, government, education loans or non-UCO scholarship)
If full or partial funding from a third party institution or organization through scholarship or loans, the applicant must attach an official scholarship/sponsor/loan letter that explains the terms and the amounts of the award.
The official letter shall include the following information and should be dated less than 12 months before the intended start date of the program:
- The full name of the applicant being given the scholarship or loan;
- The amount of money available for each year of study including the terms of support;
- The duration of the award (includes beginning and end dates); and,
- Confirmation that the award is applicable towards applicant education at UCO.
