What does the Office of Diversity and Inclusion do?
The Office of Diversity and Inclusion (ODI) facilitates and implements programs and initiatives designed to expand awareness, understanding, and appreciation for the University of Central Oklahoma’s culturally, ethnically, socially and spiritually diverse campus community. ODI is at the forefront of providing leadership and guidance at UCO as we engage in civil and constructive dialogue to create a more inclusive campus – particularly as it pertains to our students.
The mission of the Office of Diversity and Inclusion is to advance cultural competence while implementing opportunities for our diverse communities to learn, thrive and succeed.
The foundational vision of our mission is driven by our focus on three essential areas: Advocate, Celebrate and Educate. We call these our A.C.E. goals, and they guide us as we work toward creating a climate of acceptance and continue to advance diversity, equity and inclusive excellence efforts.
