Alternative Breaks
UCO Alternative Breaks seek to increase community engagement experiences for students by focusing on social issues on a local and national scale. This level of community engagement will be offered in the fall, spring and summer semesters, including various weekends. Alternative Breaks will further UCO’s mission of creating ethical and engaged citizens and leaders.
Once students return from an Alternative Break experience, they will be more informed on all sides of a social issue, feel empowered to make informed decisions and take meaningful action that supports the greater good.
Upon graduation, students that participate in Alternative Break experiences will have the skills to become active members of society and weigh in on issues that impact their communities.
