How to Apply for Leadership Scholarships
There are three ways to be selected to receive a seat on the President's Leadership Council (PLC) or Leaders of Tomorrow (LOT) Council, as an incoming freshman, transfer or continuing University of Central Oklahoma student. The selection process includes a review of the submitted application and an interview for finalists by a committee comprised of Leadership Central and other university staff.
Incoming Freshmen
Incoming freshman can apply for leadership scholarships after they submit their general UCO application for admission. Eligible students will be emailed a link to the leadership scholarship application upon submission of their UCO application. The deadline to submit your scholarship application is the same deadline as the general scholarship application. The 2024-25 UCO application deadline to be considered for all scholarships, including leadership scholarships, is Feb. 1, 2024. Incoming freshmen must submit their applications via this process or they will not be eligible to receive a Leadership Central leadership scholarship. There is one combined application for both the PLC and LOT scholarships. To be considered for leadership scholarships, requirements include a 3.0 cumulative high school GPA, ACT score of 20 or more and to be active in a minimum of two organizations on their high school campus or in their local community.
Continuing UCO Students
Current UCO students who have completed a minimum of 12 hours at UCO and hold a cumulative 3.0 GPA may apply for the continuing student leadership scholarship. Applications will be open from Feb. 1-March 1, 2024. Students who apply are eligible for both the PLC and LOT scholarships. A link to the application will be posted here as well as on the Leadership Central UCORE page once it opens.
Transfer Students
Applications will open Feb. 1, 2024. Students are eligible for both the PLC and LOT scholarships. Applicants must hold a cumulative 3.0 GPA and be actively engaged in two or more organizations at their current campus and/or local community. Applications will be open from Feb. 1-March 1, 2024 here and on the Leadership Central UCORE page on the previously mentioned dates. Sign-in is not required for transfer students to apply.
