UCO’s Master of Arts in strategic communications – leadership in communications emphasizes the strong leadership skills necessary for career advancement in the ever-growing communications industry. Requirements for Admission

  • A completed application for graduate admission.
  • Official copies of undergraduate and graduate transcripts from each institution attended with all degrees posted. All transcripts must be from accredited institutions.
  • Resume or CV.
  • A 500-word personal statement expressing the applicant’s interest in the program, goals and objectives, and any additional information the applicant believes would be helpful for admission decisions.
  • A student may be admitted by one of the three following methods: 
    • A minimum 2.75 GPA overall or 3.00 GPA in the last 60 hours attempted;
    • Minimum GRE score of 300; or, 
    • Possess a master’s degree from an accredited university/ college with an overall GPA of 3.00.

Take the Lead in Your Communications Career


The online Master of Arts in strategic communications – leadership in communications takes 36 hours to complete. You'll dedicate 24-27 credit hours to required core courses and nine-12 credit hours in guided electives. 

For communications professionals looking to advance their careers, the core courses will broaden existing knowledge of strategic communications theory and research.
