Master of Music in Composition
The Master of Music - Composition program will help prepare students in the field of music composition to develop a higher level of proficiency in composing music in a variety of genres for a variety of instrumental and vocal combinations. Students learn to put together recitals of their music and/or special performances of their works. This major also allows individuals to pursue areas of special and related interest through elective studies. The University of Central Oklahoma is accredited by the National Association of Schools of Music (NASM).
Courses You'll Take
The School of Music provides a variety of majors to create a flexible and diverse curriculum that addresses the needs of students in the 21st century. The Master of Music degree offers major areas of emphasis in composition, collaborative piano, conducting, instrumental performance (woodwind, brass, string and percussion), musical theatre, music education, piano pedagogy, piano performance, vocal pedagogy, and vocal performance.
