As more learning is conducted in the online environment, from K-12 and online universities to large corporate training programs, the rationale continues to be the same, user demand. Thus, industry and communities are using technology more to meet learning needs. The need for adult education practitioners competent in the design, development, and facilitation of adult learning in an online environment is supported within the field from conferences with themes revolving around the use of technology in the learning environment to new Masters and Doctoral Degree programs in Adult and Higher Education focusing on technology. Applications for the E-Learning Certificate for fall 2023 are not being accepted at this time due to restructuring of the program.


Master's Degree

Students are encouraged to obtain a master’s degree while pursuing the certification in E-Learning if they do not currently have a graduate degree. All courses taken to pursue this certification will count towards the Master’s in Adult and Higher Education – Lifelong and E-Learning.
