The Bachelor of Business Administration in Human Resource Management at UCO’s College of Business prepares students in areas of employee relations, compensation and benefits and recruiting. The program curriculum is aligned with the standards of the largest professional body – the Society of Human Resource Management – in the world of work. Due to this, students selecting HRM as a major prepare to be functionally capable of taking on a generalist role, performing the core HR functions on the job, in any organization. HRM majors are well equipped to be contributors to the strategic health and viability of the organization – not simply the “employee relations” team.


Curriculum

  • Human resource majors will take human resource management, legal environment of HR compliance, HR training and development, recruitment and selection and strategic compensation systems, in addition to the business core courses.
  • Students can customize their major with elective courses, such as employee relations management, organizational behavior, employee benefit planning, HR information systems/metric and introduction to OSHA.
  • Students will also have the opportunity to join the Human Resource Society.
