The Department of Mathematics and Statistics at the University of Central Oklahoma is one of seven departments in the College of Mathematics and Science. The faculty represents a broad array of scholastic interests, including algebraic topology, cryptography, history of mathematics, differential equations, numerical analysis, mathematical biology, complex analysis, biostatistics, mathematics education, matrix theory, mathematical physics, dynamical systems and geometry. The members of the faculty are committed to excellence in teaching and pride themselves on their collaborative endeavors with students to learn and conduct research.

Curriculum

The mission of the Department of Mathematics and Statistics is to provide students with a solid foundation in the theory and applications of mathematics and statistics and to produce mathematically intuitive majors with expertise in problem-solving and numerical and geometric reasoning who are prepared to pursue graduate degrees or to successfully compete in the job market.
