Sociology
An undergraduate degree in sociology will allow students to have a career in a variety of different areas including social work, politics, public administration, public relations, law, research assistantship, counseling and a plethora of other professional occupations.
Curriculum
The sociology student will gain knowledge in a variety of different areas including social deviance, family, gender and sexuality, research, theory, sociology of aging and social work. Students may also concentrate their studies in general sociology, human services and substance abuse studies.
Institute of Hope
The Institute of Hope (IOH) is a faculty-directed, student-run class. The purpose of the class is to promote awareness of social injustices occurring on local, state, national and global levels. We develop an academic understanding of the causes and consequences of multiple forms of inequality, encourage an awareness of issues and a unified opposition of social injustices in our programming, and work while treating all we meet with dignity.
