The Theatre Design/Technology B.F.A. degree is designed for the student who is interested in a career as a professional designer, technician, or stage manager in theatre and other performance mediums. The Theatre Design/Technology degree provides students with the knowledge, skills, and values needed to compete and succeed in the continually evolving world of professional theatre design and technology. UCO’s Department of Theatre Arts maintains the following shops: scene, lighting, costume, props, and a sound studio. Students working in these shops learn that “hands-on” is the rule. They work with all aspects of productions—building scenery, hanging lights, constructing costumes, creating props, recording sound, crewing and stage managing.
