Music - Vocal Performance
The Vocal Performance major within the Music program in the School of Music offers preparation for singers whose goal is to pursue a professional singing career or graduate study. This preparation is led by choral and vocal faculty whose extensive professional experience and pedagogical expertise are matched by their desire to help students reach their goals.
Curriculum
Vocal performance majors participate in a variety of collaborative and transformative experiences, training them to be flexible musicians who feel comfortable in a choral setting, the teaching studio, and on the operatic stage. Students complete a program of study that combines applied lessons, diction, languages, pedagogy, acting, and stage movement courses with participation in choral ensembles and operatic productions, preparing them for graduate study and the professional world.
