Curriculum

The Art Education major at the University of Central Oklahoma offers students a curriculum leading to certification for teaching art in (K-12) public school systems. The Art Education classes are grounded in the foundation arts and supported by focusing in a variety of studio disciplines and the study of art history concepts. Additional coursework in art and professional education practices and experience in the field make this program one of the most comprehensive and respected teacher education programs in the region. Students are prepared to move directly into teaching positions, not only in academics but also in community and art-related organizations. The Art Education program has a successful placement rate for its graduates.

Scholarships & Tuition Waivers

Incoming freshmen are eligible for a variety of scholarships within the General Academic Scholarship Program. There are four scholarships specific to the Department of Art.
