Charlotte Simmons, Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs
Prior to assuming the position of associate vice president for Academic Affairs in 2015, Charlotte Simmons served the university and the College of Mathematics and Science as tenured faculty, chairperson of the Department of Mathematics and Statistics, associate dean and dean. She continues to be a passionate teacher, productive scholar and a strong supporter of undergraduate research, including at the national level. Simmons serves as a Council for Undergraduate Research (CUR) councilor and Executive Board member and has been the principal investigator for several National Science Foundation grants supporting students from underrepresented groups. Her work ensures sound fiscal and personnel management in our colleges, equitable tenure and promotion processes and enumerable contributions to governance structure and faculty relations.
