UCO has temporarily shifted most in-person classes to synchronous virtual delivery through Feb. 7. Campus facilities and services will remain open and offer in-person and virtual options. COVID-19 protocols remain in place. Masks are required on campus when around others. Students, faculty and staff who are directly exposed to or test positive for COVID-19 should fill out UCO's COVID-19 Self-Reporting form. To learn more about current operations, view the university's coronavirus webpage.
The University of Central Oklahoma built a 57,342-square-foot Wellness Center for its students, faculty, staff, and community. The Wellness Center was created in March 2003, with four employees on staff. Today, more than 50 staff and students are employed in the UCO Department of Wellness and Sport. The facility includes office space, classrooms, locker rooms, group fitness room, fitness area with track, and gymnasium with two full-size basketball courts. In addition, the campus health clinic is located on the first floor of the Wellness Center.
The Outdoor Adventure Recreation Center (OAR) was opened on beautiful Lake Arcadia in Edmond Park in 2009, which lies right on the corner of Second St. and Midwest Blvd. The OAR offers UCO students, faculty, staff and Edmond community opportunities for paddle sports, mountain biking, a zipline and a team building ropes course. With over 14 mountain bikes, 14 paddle boards, and 20 kayaks (tandem and singles), two outdoor seating areas and an indoor classroom the OAR is equipped for individual use or large groups.
The CHK|Central Boathouse serves as home to the University of Central Oklahoma’s women’s rowing team. It also includes a live music venue and an art gallery, establishing it as a unique presence “where art meets the river” in the growing Boathouse District at the Oklahoma River.
CHK|Central is available year-round for corporate retreats, luncheons, weddings, parties, and fundraiser. In addition to events, CHK|Central hosts four art openings each year featuring a wide variety of artists in the Martha Burger Gallery.
