Branding and Marketing
It's the difference between fish eggs and caviar, a sports drink and Gatorade, a horse and a Broncho.
Marketing effectively combines elements – such as posters, brochures, logos, taglines, news releases, advertisements, videos, websites and key messages – to create a unique, memorable brand identity that works to achieve clearly articulated goals.
Our staff can create a marketing plan for your program or area, utilizing the complete resources of the Office of University Communications. We ensure your efforts coordinate with the broader Central integrated marketing plan and campuswide branding efforts based on our latest market research. This includes using key phrases and words, as well as graphics and images consistent with UCO Graphic Standards.
We develop customized solutions that allow you to achieve your goals while maximizing your resources. We've done the legwork for you, gathering information and rates from a variety of advertising opportunities, often securing a lower rate.
As members of the Broncho family, we are personally invested in the success of all Central marketing initiatives and welcome your partnership in these efforts.

Graphic Design
Our award-winning team of professional graphic designers blend extensive experience and top-notch technology to offer the Central community practical design solutions, helping you achieve your unique promotional goals, while supporting the university's integrated marketing initiatives.
Depending on the project, our designers can draw on the expertise of other University Communications staff members specializing in advertising and marketing, offering the benefits of working with a full-service firm at no cost to the Central community.
For more information or to make an appointment to discuss your project, contact Craig Beuchaw, Art Director, at 405-974-2104 or cbeuchaw@uco.edu.
News Releases/Media Relations
From news releases to interview coordination (and everything in between), our staff of professionals is your partner in telling the University of Central Oklahoma story to the public.
Our news bureau writes and distributes press releases to local, regional and national media, specifically tailoring each release to complement the integrated marketing goals of the entire university while promoting the unique and diverse qualities of each story. We welcome and encourage story ideas from Central faculty, staff and students — you are our best news source!
As the officially designated communications office for Central, we also serve as the liaison between the news media and the university community. We assist members of the media when covering Central-related events or in utilizing the expertise of our faculty, staff and students for a wide array of stories.
Our professional communicators provide counsel and coaching to the Central community in all aspects of media relations, ensuring our message is accurate, consistent and supports the goals and initiatives of the university.
We have built a strong reputation as a trusted news source for the media and work daily to put that reputation to work for you!

Photographic Services
Professionalism and quality should be reflected in every way we tell the Central story — and that includes the photographs included in our publications, on our website and with our press releases.
While many individuals or offices own their own digital cameras, often it is difficult to replicate the quality photography captured by one with years of training and experience. University Communications offers professional, quality photography through our Photographic Services office. Our services include new in-studio or on-location shoots, as well as access to our archived Central photography. We encourage all Central entities to utilize Photographic Services for their photography needs to help maintain the quality and integrity of the Central brand.
For more information, contact Lauren Bieri, Director of Photographic Services, at 405-974-2305 or lbieri@uco.edu.
Publications
University Communications can assist in the development of publications to aid in promoting your department. Among its many projects, University Communications develops the award-winning "Old North" magazine for the President's office and publishes Centralities, Central's daily e-newsletter for faculty and staff. We are available for consultation on editorial content and design, developing a publication that can best achieve your goals. When requesting University Communications' consultation, please consider the time needed to develop, revise, print and mail (if applicable) the finished product.
For more information, contact Sarah Ward, Director of Special Publications and Projects, at 405-974-2106 or sward24@uco.edu.
Video Services
Video is a powerful, highly effective tool used by Central to promote our message to a variety of audiences. Our staff of professionals produces, shoots, scripts, edits and provides voice-over services, creating a high-quality video targeted to specific audiences for Central departments.
Any and all video produced by the Office of University Communications is owned solely by the University of Central Oklahoma, and, thus, any proposed use must be approved by our office.
