Faculty, Staff and Student Travel

Campus Arrival from International Destinations
Before you arrive in the U.S.
Starting Nov. 8, 2021, non-immigrant, non-citizen air travelers to the US will be required to be fully vaccinated prior to boarding an airplane to the US. This means you must provide proof of vaccination status result taken no more than one (1) day before travel. For information about which COVID-19 vaccines are accepted, please visit the Center for Disease Control website.
There are limited exceptions to this requirement: children under 18 years of age, people medically unable to receive the vaccine, citizens of countries with very limited vaccine availability, and people issued humanitarian or emergency exceptions.”
Starting Dec. 2, 2021, non-immigrant, non-citizen air travelers to the US will be required to receive a PCR test one (1) day prior to boarding an airplane to the U.S. This is required in addition to full vaccination. Do I need to quarantine upon arrival in Oklahoma?
Fully vaccinated travelers DO NOT need to self-quarantine.
If you fall under one of the CDC exceptions and are not fully vaccinated at the time of travel, please follow the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention Guidelines for quarantine.
WHEN CAN RESIDENTS CHECK INTO UCO CAMPUS HOUSING for the spring 2022 semester?
The official check-in date for campus housing is Jan. 7, 2022. If you need to move in earlier, contact UCO housing for arrangements. Note that university offices will be closed to public for winter break from Dec. 22 through Jan. 3.
HOW WILL AIRPORT PICK-UP SERVICE WORK FOR NEW INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS ARRIVING FOR THE FIRST TIME IN OKLAHOMA CITY?
Each student should fill out the Airport Pickup Request Form. Airport pickup service is provided at no cost to our new international students in partnership with our community volunteers. All students are encouraged to wear a mask upon arrival and during the car ride to their final destination.
WHERE AND WHEN CAN I RECEIVE MY COVID-19 TEST, if I want to, AFTER ARRIVAL TO OKLAHOMA?
There are various locations around Edmond and Oklahoma City metro where you can receive your COVID-19 test. You can either visit the website of the center or contact them by phone to check when you can make an appointment. You can use the cellphone sim card received in your admissions packet to make the call if you do not the phone to use. The Office of Global Affairs and the Housing Office will provide you with information on the various places you can visit for COVID-19 testing. WILL UCO REQUIRE ME TO SHOW PROOF OF MY CDC-APPROVED VACCINATION TO ATTEND CLASSES?
No, the State of Oklahoma does not allow Higher Education institutions to require vaccinations or masks in order to be admitted to or attend classes at a public institution in Oklahoma.
