Formal Application - Traditional Track
We are excited to review your nursing application and get you moving towards a rewarding nursing career. There are a few things you will need to do to be able to complete and submit your Traditional Nursing Program Application.
1. If you are not currently admitted, the first step is to apply to the University of Central Oklahoma.
a) Transcripts from high school and colleges must be sent to UCO Records Department. Additional information on transfers can be found here.
b) Before submitting your application, contact our Nursing Department Advisor, Ms. Karen Davis, to complete a Degree Plan and review.
c) In the 2 – 3 weeks before applications are due, it will be more difficult to get an appointment. We recommend doing this as soon as you start thinking about applying.
2. There is a $25 fee for applying to the Nursing Program. Visit the Nursing department application below to learn more.
a) If you applied to UCO in the Fall of 2017 or later, log in using the email used for that application.
b) If you did not use the CRM Recruit website to apply to the University, then you will need to create an account using your UCO email.
3. Please review the following documents from the Oklahoma Board of Nursing prior to application
a) Oklahoma Board of Nursing Statement
b) Performance Standards for Admission and Progression in the Department of Nursing
TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR ADMISSION, YOU WILL NEED TO UPLOAD THE FOLLOWING TO YOUR APPLICATION:1. OSBI Criminal Background Check (fingerprints are NOT required for this level)
YOU MUST CHECK ALL THREE SEARCHES: NAME-BASED, SEX OFFENDER, AND VIOLENT OFFENDER
a) Complete online here.
b) You’ll need to have all three searches above, plus include: all names by which you’ve been known and your SSN.
c) The cost is $20 to submit online and $19 in person.
2. TOEFL or equivalent for students who speak English as a second language
a) The minimum score for admission:
i. 560 on the written
ii. 83 on the internet examination
iii. 6.5 on the IELTS
