UCO COVID-19 protocols remain in place for the spring 2021 semester. Masks are required on campus when around others. Students, faculty and staff directly exposed to or test positive for COVID-19 should fill out UCO's COVID-19 Self-Reporting form. To learn more about current operations, view the university's coronavirus webpage. View a list of UCO's virtual services.
Presentation Formats for Virtual Symposium
The 2021 UCO College of Liberal Arts will be held virtually on a D2L/Brightspace Platform using Zoom for most presentations. Both of these technologies should be familiar to UCO students and faculty. Types of presentations include debates, paper presentations, discussion panels, displays, focus groups, plays/skits, poster presentations, slide shows, and videos. Below are some other ideas for participating in the Symposium virtually.
Video Presentation – we suggest posting videos to YouTube and providing a URL link. These videos should be about 50 minutes or less (to provide Symposium attendees a chance to move from one Symposium event to the next).
Poster Presentation (Traditional) – Make a poster using whatever design software (PowerPoint, Publisher, Google Docs, etc.) is most comfortable. Lay out the poster in any size, but we suggest 48x27 (16:9) dimensions so that it can be viewed in widescreen. Save the poster to a PDF and send to Dr. Brett Sharp (firstname.lastname@example.org) to be loaded on the Symposium D2L platform.
Poster Presentation (Interactive) – UCO has arranged for students to have access to a user-friendly interactive poster template, Digital Poster, which is available for use at:
Once your poster is finalized, send the URL to Dr. Brett Sharp (email@example.com) to be linked to the Symposium’s D2L platform.
