Support Our Students
Scholarships are often the deciding factor as to whether a student can continue earning a degree or whether they must dropout due to financial constraints. Thanks to donor giving, the College of Fine Arts and Design (CFAD) offers more than 100 scholarships every year to well-deserving students, ensuring they can continue to grow and become tomorrow’s future leaders in the arts and design.
Student Success in the Arts and Design Fund
In college, students sometimes face unexpected financial emergencies that cannot be addressed through traditional financial aid or scholarships. That is why, in 2013, CFAD established the Student Success in the Arts and Design Fund. Funds can be accessed by our students at any time during the academic year through a simple application process, making this the best method to support students facing an unforeseen financial crisis. Since its inception, the fund has benefited many, including a student who needed dental work in order to continue playing their instrument, a student who was in a car accident and needed help with transportation to campus and a student whose parents suddenly lost their income and could no longer assist with tuition. Your support is the lifeline students need during times of financial crisis.
Arts Education Certification Fund
A brainchild of the CFAD Advisory Board, this new fund supports the cost of required state tests or testing for education majors within the College, including the Oklahoma General Education Test (OGET), the Oklahoma Subject Area Test (OSAT) and the Oklahoma Professional Teaching Exam (OPTE). Your gift of $165 could make the difference between whether arts education students can enter their field of training as a teacher or whether they are forced to find other work.
The caliber of our students’ talent often merits invitations to travel and perform or exhibit their work out of state and, sometimes, out of country. This fund helps support these initiatives as well as facility improvements that advance our students’ educational experiences. This fund also encompasses the purchase of instruments, the acquisition of new artwork and the hosting of renowned guest artists, all of which provide our students with a well-rounded education.
