The Max Chambers Library will be open 7:30 a.m.-10 p.m., Nov. 22., 7:30 a.m.-5 p.m. Nov. 23 and will be closed Nov. 24-26. The Wellness Center will be closed Nov. 23-27 and will resume normal hours Nov. 28.

The UCO Teacher Path program provides personalized resources to help you accomplish the next steps in your teaching career! This program serves as a guided pathway for alternatively and emergency-certified educators in Oklahoma to help fulfill their certification requirements.


  • Courses meet the Oklahoma State Department of Education requirements for those on an alternative pathway towards teacher certification
  • Courses are offered in several formats based on your certification area
  • Students receive personalized help from program faculty advisers to work with your schedule and help you find the right courses
  • Courses are offered year-round
  • Course credits can count towards a master’s degree from the University of Central Oklahoma

Getting Started

  1. Schedule a meeting with the coordinator for your program to discuss alternative certification requirements (Elementary/Early Childhood or Secondary or Pre-K - 12th)
  2. Apply to the UCO Jackson College of Graduate Studies (for questions about applying to the Graduate College, contact Carlie Wellington)
  3. If you have not already, contact the Oklahoma State Department of Education to determine what the requirements are for your particular situation and certification area
