Center for Brief Counseling
The Center for Brief Counseling is a training center for UCO students pursuing a Master’s of Education degree in school counseling. The Center serves a tri-fold mission to provide experience for graduate students, to provide counseling and services to individuals and families in Edmond and the surrounding areas, and to advance knowledge in the field of counseling.
Counseling is provided by students who are completing their final semester in a graduate counseling program. Supervision is provided by the program coordinator, Dr. Laressa Beliele, who is a nationally certified Approved Clinic Supervisor (ACS), licensed professional counselor (LPC), state approved LPC supervisor and certified school counselor. The Center complies with the ethical standards of the American Counseling Association.
Clinic sessions are held in the UCO Speech and Hearing Clinic in room 124 of the Max Chambers Library on UCO’s Campus. View the UCO campus map for direction information.
The cost for a 45-minute counseling session is $5. Clients may discuss lowering the fee with the clinic supervisor in cases of financial hardship.
