College of Education & Professional Studies
The College of Education and Professional Studies (CEPS) is a diverse unit offering 21 undergraduate and 29 graduate majors. CEPS is home to Oklahoma’s first teacher preparation academy and includes seven academic departments: Adult Education & Safety Sciences; Curriculum & Instruction; the Donna Nigh Department of Advanced Professional & Special Services; Educational Sciences, Foundations & Research; Human Environmental Sciences; Kinesiology & Health Studies; and Psychology.

Here in the College of Education and Professional Studies, we are dedicated to preparing outstanding professionals who are reflective, responsive and resourceful throughout their careers. Nearly 80% of all faculty have extensive experience in their field, and we pride ourselves on providing students with comprehensive and transformative learning experiences throughout their time at Central.Mission

Meeting Student Needs
Our college offers a diverse array of programs in several learning formats to meet the needs of all students. Many graduate programs are presented in a blended learning style that mixes online classes and in-person meetings, and several of our programs are now offered 100% online through the UCO Connected Campus.
Transformative Learning
Our students have opportunities to attend conferences and study tours, participate in clinical experiences and research symposiums, learn in various lab and clinic environments, and join several of the nearly 25 student organizations in our college to enhance their transformative learning experiences at Central.
