THE ULTIMATE CAREER DEVELOPMENT GUIDE FOR
UCO COLLEGE OF BUSINESS STUDENTS
Internship Process
Gaining hands-on, practical experience in the workplace as a complement to a formal college education can prepare students for a more rewarding career. Many employers value experience when hiring new employees. For these reasons, the College of Business strongly advises students to gain practical experience via internships.
For an internship to be recognized by the College of Business, it must provide college credit awarded through the student’s academic department of major. An internship should provide an educational experience complementary to the student’s program of study. For access to available internships visit Handshake (login through UCONNECT).
Note: Students should begin the internship conversation with their business advisor to discuss the internship policy and determine the number of credit hours remaining to graduate. Student should also discuss the potential for an internship to fulfill any remaining hours.
