As a Business Ambassador, you will play an integral role in helping to advance the mission of the UCO College of Business through communicating with prospective students and their families, connecting new and prospective students to faculty, services and resources, assisting transfer students, answering questions about campus and life both in and out of the classroom, and providing support for your peers. In a nutshell, you serve as a brand ambassador, resource advocate and peer mentor for prospective, new and current business students.
Business Ambassadors will have opportunities for leadership development through the Student Success Center, Campus Tours and Events, National Transfer Student Transfer Week, participating in Stampede Week and college events, and so much more!
Students can apply for a Business Ambassador position after completion of their first semester at UCO.

*Applications must be submitted by Sunday, April 9, 2023, to be considered as an ambassador for the fall 2023 semester.
Eligibility
To be eligible to apply for the Business Ambassador Program, students must:
- Have a desire to lead and to advance the College's mission;
- Be a declared undergraduate business major;
- Have a minimum retention GPA of 3.00;
- Maintain a minimum GPA of 3.00 while in the program;
- Have completed at least one (1) full semester* at UCO;
- Be in good academic standing;
- Be enrolled full-time (a minimum of 12 hours);
- Have at least two full semesters remaining before graduating;
- Have a willingness to serve for two consecutive semesters;
- Participate in activities as specified by the tier’s expectations;
- Submit a 300–500-word essay; and,
- Have at least one letter of recommendation from a UCO College of Business faculty or staff member.
*At least 12 credit hours completed in the fall or spring semester prior to application.

Business Ambassador Program Tiers
The program will implement a two-tier approach for Business Ambassadors based on their experience and the amount of responsibility and leadership development desired. Business Ambassadors will receive training and mentorship as they work together to advance the mission of the College and University.
Business Ambassador
The Business Ambassador is for business students who are proven leaders with an enhanced understanding of the College and University’s mission and vision, resources and community who are committed to advancing the mission of the UCO College of Business.
Expectations and Opportunities
- Serve as panelists and liaisons for prospective students and families during events;
- Lead or co-lead 1 tour per week when possible;
- Complete between 4-6 office hours per week;
- Assist with on- and off-campus recruitment activities;
- Assist with transition support for new and current students;
- Serve on at least one Business Ambassadors Program committee;
- Assist with event management processes and administrative tasks;
- Create blog posts, social media content and/or videos for the program; and,
- Attend monthly meetings.
Type of Position
Part-Time; compensated $10/hour.
Work Schedule
Varies; in-person work will generally take place between 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m., Monday-Friday in fall and spring semesters, with an option to also work in the summer. Two (2) special events per fall/spring semester will be required.
Hours/Week
4-6 hours per week depending on availability.
Lead Business Ambassador
The Lead Business Ambassador fulfills the same role as the Business Ambassador with additional leadership responsibilities serving as a student mentor and trainer for Business Ambassadors.
Expectations and Opportunities
- Serve as panelists and liaisons for prospective students and families during events;
- Lead 1 and be on standby for 1-2 tours per week;
- Complete between 8-10 office hours per week;
- Present admission information to prospective students and their guests as needed;
- Assist with event management processes administration;
- Upload prospect cards and complete data management;
- Serve as the leader of one Business Ambassadors Program committee;
- Assist with on- and off-campus recruitment activities;
- Assist with transition support for new and current students;
- Participate in hiring and training for new ambassadors;
- Facilitate training sessions on tour “best practices”;
- Create blog posts, social media content and/or videos for the program; and,
- Attend monthly meetings.
Type of Position
Part-Time; compensated $10/hour.
