Accounting Degree Program

The Accounting Department offers one degree program that leads to a Bachelor of Science (B.S.). The Bachelor of Science in accounting is for students who want to work on the financial side of business, communicating financial information to internal and external stakeholders.

Accounting Major

The UCO accounting program prepares graduates with an in-depth understanding of all areas of accounting. Such training best meets the needs of potential employers, particularly those in the metropolitan area of Oklahoma City and surrounding regions.

Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA)

Students majoring in accounting at the University of Central Oklahoma have the opportunity to be a part of the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program. In this program, students offer free income tax assistance to the Central community, as well as the Oklahoma City metro. The UCO VITA staff consists of accounting students who have passed at least three tests to qualify them to prepare income tax returns. UCO faculty members supervise the students and check each return for accuracy.
