Pillars of Progress
Pillar 1: Engage our Students
Helping students learn is what drives our faculty, staff and administration at the UCO College of Business.
We strive to create a learning environment that offers students opportunities to gain real-world experience before graduation through exposure to executives and hands-on learning projects. We challenge our students with a vigorous curriculum that prepared them for a lifetime of business leadership.
Our student-centered programs provide personal attention and interaction between students and faculty. Students enjoy small class sizes. Faculty includes top professors, experienced executives and practicing business professionals, all with the goal of preparing students for a lifetime of business leadership. They thrive on our main focus of helping students learn.
Pillar 2: Support our Faculty
Our continued commitment to teaching could not be possible without our dedicated faculty. The College of Business has won multiple U.S. Professor of the Year awards. This award salutes the most outstanding undergraduate instructors in the country- those who excel in teaching and positively influence the lives and careers of students (2007 and 2008).
We believe it is important to provide faculty with the resources and development that they need. This includes software, subscriptions, travel to conferences and much more.
We are a large university committed to small class sizes and personal attention from faculty, a private school education at a public school price.
Pillar 3: Enhance our Facilities
Here at the College of Business, we believe that a modern business education requires modern business facilities. Our goal is to provide students with informal learning spaces and a surrounding conducive to learning.
Pillar 4: Tell our Story
The College of Business is student-focused and offers an enriching curriculum in 15 majors, as well as a Master of Business Administration (MBA) and a Master of Science in Business Analytics (MSBA). Our central location provides students with a competitive advantage for internships and employment. The College of Business challenges students by translating classroom theory into global practice. The scholarly faculty at our college not only lends their experience and expertise, but their approachable teaching methods promote intellectual growth. Through our transformative learning environment, students are provided the instruments for success.
