Business Retention and Graduation Rates

The UCO College of Business strives to continuously improve retention and graduation rates by providing exceptional support services to existing and prospective students, including tutoring and career development opportunities. Below are the retention and graduation rates for first-time freshmen and undergraduates at the rank of junior from 2014-20.

Graduate and Job Placement Outcomes for Business Students

The UCO College of Business is committed to the post-graduation success of our students. We continuously collect and monitor graduate outcome data from our alumni and a summary of the data from fall 2016 to summer 2021 are as follows.

  • Total number of graduates = 2,493
  • Average undergraduate base salary* = $42,500
  • Average graduate base salary* = $55,000
  • Thirty-four percent (34%) of graduate survey respondents (N= 684, “yes”) were employed at or shortly after graduation; 92% of those employed were employed at full-time status.
  • Twenty-three percent (23%) of students who had an National Student Clearinghouse report returned (N = 160) were enrolled in a program of continuing education; 9% of overall graduates (respondents and non-respondents) were enrolled in a program of continuing education.

*As a self-reported data point, some base salaries may also include 100% commission, part commission or bonuses.

Learner Demographics

UCO is an institution that serves many first-generation learners, as they comprise 53% of our student population. Approximately 52.2% of students are first-time freshmen, with 45.3% coming via transfer and 2.5% classified as other. Most learners come to UCO from the Oklahoma City metropolitan area (70.8%) and a total of 85.6% come from the state of Oklahoma. The average ACT score of learners at UCO is 21.7[1].

The College of Business Learner Demographics Dashboard presents undergraduate learner demographic data for undergraduate UCO College of Business students to compare with all University of Central Oklahoma students, city and county of Oklahoma City demographics, and the seven-county metropolitan statistical area demographics. The displayed data numbers reflect demographics in the following categories: first-generation, veteran, gender and diversity. The dashboard will be updated every five years to coincide with the AACSB re-accreditation cycle.
