In regards to COVID-19, and in the interest of health and safety, all in-person May 2020 commencement ceremonies have been canceled.
Spring 2020 Commencement
Celebrate this landmark moment in our graduates' lives in a way that protects the health of our campus community and guests. UCO will recognize our spring and summer graduates with a virtual commencement ceremony May 22.
Congratulations to all of our graduates!
Graduation is an important milestone in the lives of students and their families. More than 300 UCO staff and faculty volunteer their time to make every commencement ceremony special for each graduate. Our goal is to make the experience as stress-free and safe for all of our graduating students and those in attendance.
All graduation ceremonies occur in Hamilton Field House unless otherwise noted.
The Old North Walk is a tradition at UCO. Students walk through Old North as the chimes play the UCO Alma Mater. Students will begin the walk on the north side of Plunkett Park and touch the Bronze Bell to signify memories that were and ones that will be.
Freshmen are walked into the gateway towards Old North and graduating students are taken out the gateway as they graduate and enter the community as productive, creative, ethical, and engaged citizens. The walk continues to the north side of Hamilton Field House.
The undergraduate procession begins by Old North along the North side of Plunkett Park one hour before the Commencement ceremony begins. Faculty Marshals will be on hand to assist graduates in lining up by college in a double line.
The Walk will be canceled if weather is not conducive for a dry, safe walk to Hamilton Field House. The decisions to cancel will be made one hour before each ceremony begins.
