Adult Students - Students over 21 years of age with less than 6 attempted college credit hours. 

Visiting Students (Special Students) - Students who intend to take 9 credit hours or less at UCO. Visiting Students are not eligible for financial aid. 

Readmit - It has been more than one semester and a summer term since the student's last attendance at UCO, a student wants to continue at Central after they have earned an undergraduate degree, or students who want to return after being academically suspended. 

Post Baccalaureate - Students holding at least a bachelor's degree who wish to take undergraduate courses without pursuing a degree. Post Baccalaureate students are not eligible for Financial Aid. 

Second Bachelor's - Students intending to pursue a second bachelor's degree.

Admission Application Fee

Take advantage of our $50 application fee by completing the admission and scholarship application early! The admission application fee increases to $100 the month prior to a semester starting. 

Late application fee begins:

  • Fall Terms - August 1
  • Spring Terms - December 1
  • Summer Terms - May 1

Admission Standards


Adult Students

Students over 21 years of age with less than 6 attempted college credit hours apply as Adult Students. 

Admission Requirements: 

  • English Placement Test Score - 77 or higher
  • Reading Placement Test Score - 75 or higher
  • Math Placement Test Score - 75 or higher

Admission materials required*:

  • Official Final High School Transcript or GED
  • English, Reading, and Math Placement Test Scores

Visiting Students (Special Students)

Students who intend to take no more than 9 credit hours during their entire enrollment at UCO. This includes prior concurrent work done or prior attendance at UCO. Please note that Visiting Students are not eligible for financial aid or university tuition waivers. Visiting Students who reach the 9 hour limit and wish to continue enrollment at Central should reapply as transfer students. 

Admission Requirements:

While there are no academic requirements for Visiting Students, students should send scanned transcripts to articulation@uco.edu to ensure prompt enrollment in classes that require prerequisites.

Readmit Students

Students may reapply for admission to UCO if: 

  • It has been more than one semester and a summer term since your last attendance as a degree seeking student at UCO. 
  • You have completed an undergraduate degree at UCO and wish to continue.
  • You were suspended from UCO. 
  • You are transferring back to UCO from another institution. 

*Students who have only attended UCO as part of the High School Concurrent Enrollment program are considered first time freshman if their only college credit is concurrent. These student should NOT apply as readmit students. 

Admission materials required*:

  • Official Transcript from any institution attended since UCO

Electronic transcripts can be sent by institutions electronically to registrar@uco.edu. Faxed or emailed transcripts are not considered official.

 Post Baccalaureate Students

Students who have completed a bachelor's degree from UCO or another regionally accredited institution and are interested in taking courses for personal interest. Post Baccalaureate students are not eligible for Financial Aid, nor are they pursuing a second degree. 

Admission Requirements:

  • Earned a bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution

Admission materials required*:

  • Official Transcript showing bachelor's degree conferred

Second Bachelor's Degree Students

Students pursuing a second bachelor's degree, and have never attended UCO will apply as Transfer Students. Students who have attended or received a bachelor's degree from UCO will apply as Readmit Students.
