Mission
In its 13th year, the Administrative Support Professionals' Academy is designed to provide administrative support professionals with tools to enhance their performance and make their roles more meaningful. The program is aimed at administrative assistants, executive assistants, office managers, secretaries, receptionists and support staff.
Building your brand through inclusion and strengths
Daniel Suda, Alumni Relations Professional | Higher Education Researcher | Ph.D. Candidate
This one-day academy, Building Your Brand Through Inclusion and Strengths, will provide participants tools needed to:
- Understand their own personal strengths;
- Build self-assurance in expressing their internalized values; and,
- Construct a confident personal brand that will represent one's personal and professional expertise.
Participants will experience an interactive and dynamic workshop filled with immediately applicable takeaways for building one's brand. Daniel pulls from years of research, personal experience and group leadership development to help participants deeply understand their own individualized values and their application to any teamwork-based setting.
About the Presenter
Daniel Suda possesses more than ten years of higher education experience focused on alumni engagement, volunteer management and diversity/inclusion. His professional areas of expertise include strategic planning, leadership development, diversity advocacy and fundraising. Suda has been leading students, colleagues and volunteer groups in StrengthsFinder-based leadership training for over 12 years. He has continued to develop a passion for leading equitable change within organizations. This includes providing groups with the tools needed to work cohesively by understanding their own individualized values and how to best provide their talents to a unit's needs.
A lifelong learner, Suda believes in the power of higher education and continues to learn each day. His research interests include racial identity, higher education fundraising and policy impacts on philanthropy. Suda earned his undergraduate degree from Texas A&M University and an M.S. in College Student Personnel Administration from Illinois State University. Currently, he's a Ph.D. candidate in Higher Education at the University of North Texas, completing his dissertation in spring of 2023.

CliftonStrengths Assessment
The CliftonStrengths Assessment measures your talents, your natural patterns of thinking, feeling and behaving, and categorizes them into the 34 CliftonStrengths themes. Registrants will receive an email from the UCO Educator's Leadership Academy (ELA) March 1, 2023 with instructions on how to access a StrengthsFinder assessment and instructions on reporting your results to ELA. Check your clutter and spam folders for the email titled, "2023 ELA Administrative Support Professionals Academy StrengthsFinder Assessment Code." During the 30-minute, online assessment, you'll see 177 paired statements and choose which one best describes you.
Complete your assessment and pre-session intake form by 11:29 p.m., Wednesday, March 29, to have your results included in the aggregate information for the Administrative Support Professionals Academy.
Tuition
- Early-bird registration fee: $250 ends 11:59 p.m., January 31, 2023
- Regular registration fee: $325, February 1 – April 5, 2023
Registration includes parking at the Nigh University Center, continental breakfast, lunch, refreshments and an access code to take the CliftonStrengths Assessment.
Registrants prepaying with a university/college credit card may print the ELA Prepayment Authorization Form for your records.
Hotel Block
Hotel accommodations are not included in the tuition. However, a room block at the rate of $104 per night has been made on April 4, 2023, at the Fairfield Inn & Suites by Marriott Edmond located at 301 Meline Dr., Edmond, OK 73034.
If you would like to book a room, please call the Fairfield Inn front desk at (405) 341-4818 no later than March 15, and ask to book a room under the "Administration Support Professionals ACACEMN" block. To be eligible for tax exemption, the entity that pays for the room must provide tax exempt verification prior to arrival to determine eligibility.
