WHAT DO YOU GET?

You'll receive Level 3 Certified Instructor Training in which the OAR staff has received from the American Canoe Association for kayak/canoe/stand up paddleboard and adaptive paddling. The staff is trained to deliver the best one-on-one instruction and guided trips in the area, both on the water and on the trails. We are familiar with the area, state and other recreation destinations, allowing us to help you plan a positive experience. We have multiple years’ experience in guiding mountain bike outings, as well as overnight kayak camping and backpacking trips… Our passion is teaching through experiential education.

WHAT TO WEAR FOR ANY OUTING?

- NO COTTON; wear some type of quick drying material such as polyester or other dry fit material. Layer appropriately for the weather.

- Dress for the weather and be prepared for the unexpected. This could include sun hats, sun screen, extra long sleeves or gloves.

- Please bring anything you don’t feel comfortable leaving behind. This could be your cell phone, camera or any type of medication. You know your body and limits better than anyone.

WHAT TO EXPECT?

Depending on the activity, you can expect to receive one-on-one quick start instruction for any activity you do. We won't just shove you off in the lake. We provide maps, on water demonstration and rescue techniques, as well as paddling instruction. The same applies for mountain biking; we will send you with a map, repair kit and also cover the basics of mountain biking and suggest some different routes, depending on your ability.

WHO IS ELIGIBLE?

EVERYONE. It doesn't matter if you can't swim, have legs, arms or can even see. We specialize in adaptive instruction and activity engagement.  The water is an equalizer and a great platform for learning how to overcome barriers and keeping you from independence.none
