NEW! Small Group Fitness Instruction
By participating in small group fitness instruction, participants will learn 1) proper technique for an effective and safe workout; 2) a minimum of 8 exercises focusing on the major muscle goups in the body; and 3) creative ways to incorporate a variety exercises into a fitness routine. Program is GREAT for those new to working out and wanting to explore personal training services at the Wellness Center.
Small group fitness instruction programs include: Resistance Bands; Body Weight Training; Core Pole; Abs & Back; Heart Rate 101; Selectorized Machines; Stability Ball; Free Weight Training; Circuit Training; Balance Training; and Full Body Stretching.
Days/Times: Tuesdays & Thursdays 12:15 pm to 12:45 pm. Start/End Program Dates: January 15th - March 14th, 2013. Class Location: Wellness Center, Room 134. Instructors: Wellness Center Certified Personal Trainers. Fees: FREE - No cost to Central students, employee and Wellness Center members.

Tai Chi: Moving for Better Balance
Tai Chi is a form of martial arts that works to improve concentration and physical well-being. This low impact exercise program combines breathing and slow and gentle movements. The rhythmic movements are circular and flowing to enhance strength and coordination while helping participants to achieve better body awareness and balance.
Days/Times: Mondays 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm. Start/End Program Dates: January 28th - March 11th, 2013. Class Location: Wellness Center, Room 134. Instructors: Ed Cunliff, PhD & Sara Cole, PhD. Fees: FREE - No Cost to Central students, employees, and Wellness Center members.

AFAA Primary Group Exercise Workshop & Certification
This workshop and certification is for the aspiring group exercise instructor. The workshop provides a review of AFAA's Basic Exercise Standards and Guidelines, anatomy, exercise science, exercise evaluation and exam criteria. The program format include practical application of group exercise, study guide overview and a question and answer session.
Days/Times: Saturday, March 9th, 2013 9 am to 6 pm. Class Location: Wellness Center, Room 134. Instructors: AFAA Instructor Trainers. Fees: $299 payable to AFAA.
