Class Descriptions

BFIT:

Have fun and get moving through exercises designed to improve muscular strength and power, balance, and range of motion. BFIT combines sports skills with functional activities to promote fitness for the active mature adult.

Body Pump:

The original LES MILLS™ barbell class, will sculpt, tone and strengthen your entire body, fast! Focusing on low weight loads and high repetition movements, you'll burn fat, gain strength and quickly produce lean body muscle conditioning.  The cutting-edge BODYPUMP™ choreography and chart-topping music is refreshed every three months, so with your choice of weight and highly-trained instructors you can get the group effect and the results you've been looking for! (Maximum 20 participants)

Cycle:

Cardiovascular workout utilizing specialized stationary bikes. Participants choose their resistance while riding to exhilarating music! In this class you will burn calories! Climb, sprint, and jump your workout to the next level. (Maximum 12 participants)

Kickboxing:

An intense workout with controlled jabs, punches, kicks, and combinations. Participants will be challenged and inspired to discover the endless energy and power of simple, yet precise kickboxing techniques.

LIFT:

Group weight training designed specifically for retired (or those nearing retirement) UCO faculty and staff. With a focus on improving one’s ability to perform daily activities, this class also includes balance and flexibility training. A chair may be used for seated or standing support.

Pilates:

Mind-body exercise focusing on core strength, stability, and flexibility.  Pilates builds strong, toned muscles and improves body awareness. 

TRX & Circuit Training:

This circuit training workout provides a combination of aerobic/anaerobic fitness and strength training.  The instructor addresses all levels of fitness in a station to station format focusing on form, posture and functional movement. The latest trend in fitness, TRX suspension training offers an intense total body workout.  Suspension training utilizes your body weight through functional movement for great results!  Class takes place in the outdoor fitness area.  (Maximum 11 participants) 

Yoga:

Mind body class where participants perform traditional yoga poses in conjunction with breathing techniques and meditation.

Yoga with Weights:

Lunch time yoga class incorporating weights and strength training to maximize your workout.

Zumba:

Fuses Latin rhythms and easy to follow moves to create a dynamic workout system that will blow you away! The routines feature interval training sessions where fast and slow rhythms and resistance training are combined to tone and sculpt your body while burning fat! (Maximum 45 participants)
