TRC Training for Faculty and Staff
The Technology Resource Center (TRC) provides the official technology training, assistance, and consulting for the University-supported academic and productivity technologies. View the TRC Training Catalog for a list of the training offerings available to faculty and staff.
NOTE: TRC reserves the option to cancel a session due to low enrollment (less than 3). If a session is cancelled for this reason, a notification will be sent to anyone that had registered for the session.

The Technology Resource Center (TRC) provides the official technology training and best practices on all of the University standard applications for e‐learning and productivity. Here is a list of training opportunities. Learn the Microsoft Office Suite 2010 features and kick up your skill level with sessions ranging from entry level to advanced. Do you have an iPad and wonder if you are tapping into the device’s full capabilities? This session is intended for faculty or staff who are new to the iPad and want to get more out of the built-in apps, as well as learn how to customize options and settings. While not required, it is recommended that you bring your iPad for hands-on practice. Are you looking for ideas on how to use an iPad to find information and get things done while away from your office computer? This session is intended for faculty and staff, and will discuss several apps geared towards efficiently finding and using information, managing details, and keeping connected. While not required, it is recommended that attendees bring their iPad for hands-on practice. Have you heard that the iPad is great for education, but are still wondering how to make use of the device in your own instruction? This session is intended for faculty who want to know more about using the iPad to enhance teaching and learning. The instructional value of several apps and strategies will be examined. During the session, you will have the opportunity to find and evaluate apps that could be useful in your own course. While not required, Learn proper strategies for protecting your iPad data. The University has a site license for Adobe Acrobat Pro available to all faculty and staff. Learn how to get started using this application to create and share PDF documents as well as interactive forms. Learn how to protect yourself online, whether at home or at work. This session provides attendees with an overview of generally-accepted Netiquette protocols. The tips provided will help ensure that your online persona is as professional and charming as you are in face-to-face encounters. How you represent yourself and UCO online makes a big difference in today's connected world. This session covers using social networking tools, such as Facebook and Twitter, as well as the professional use of email, and online netiquette. Attending this session will help to make sure your personal and departmental Net Face is all that it can be. Are you responsible for updating or creating content on your department's website? If so, you will want to attend one or more of these sessions. They are offered for varying levels of experience with using UCO's tools for developing or changing UCO's website, so come learn what you need to know to get the website to do just what you want and need. Learn how to maintain your department’s web presence. Essential, Advanced, and Special Topics sessions specifically designed to train you on using UCO's Web Content Management System are offered. (The Essentials training session is a prerequisite to both the Advanced and Special Topics sessions.) Wiki Central is a great resource for course or department collaboration. This session will demonstrate how Wiki Central can greatly facilitate communication and coordination of team projects. Broncho Blogs are a great way to share information online in a blog format. This session will show you what is possible with this blogging tool.Microsoft Office
