Q: What do I need to do to get a phone in my apartment or dorm room?
A: Each student is responsible for bringing their own phone

Q: What kind of phone do I need?
A: Any touch-tone phone will do.

Q: Do I need to get my own telephone service provider?
A: No, UCO provides that for you.

Q:Where do I go to get our phone number and extension?
A: Extension numbers for the residents on campus are available through the Hall/Commons Community building desks (Room 309 in the University Center, x2746).

Q: I am interested in having voicemail for my phone, how do I go about obtaining one and does it cost?
A: Telephone voice messaging is available at a reasonable fee from the Housing Office (Room 309 of the University Center).

Q: How does the voicemail service work?
A: This service acts like an answering machine, allowing access from any touch-tone phone on- or off-campus. It provides automatic time and extension of calls, as well as step-by-step prompts to receive, send, answer, and forward messages.

Q: Who do I contact if I am having problems with my phone line?
A: All telephone problems should be reported to Technology Support by calling (405) 974-2255 or by email at support@uco.edu.

Q: If I need to make an emergency call, is there a campus emergency number?
A: For emergencies, call 9-1-1. Campus police can be reached at x2345.

Q: How do I place a call on campus?
A: Dial the four digit extension of the party you wish to call.

Q: I need to make a local call what do I do?
A: Dial 9 + the seven-digit number you wish to call.

Q: How do I make a long distance call?
A: Dial 9, enter your calling card number, and enter the 10-digit telephone number, or dial your international telephone number.

Q: How do I make a toll-free call?
A: To make a toll free call: dial 9+1+800+ the rest of the number.
