Current OIT Projects

Below is the current project list for the Division of Information Technology. The overview shown presents OIT's 2011-2012 major projects listed currently as a "Work in Process." The projects have been submitted to the division as support tickets, service desk requests, project requests, strategic planning initiatives, or a multitude of other possible inputs from the client community we serve. However, the common elements for each of these projects is the utilization of technical resources, in excess of 80 staff hours, or the project utilizes resources from multiple departments campus-wide in order to achieve a common goal for the university. If you do not see your project on the list, it (1) has not been fully initiated and assigned by the Project Management Office, (2) it is not considered a campus-wide initiative, and/or (3) it will take LESS than 80 staff hours to complete.

Operationally, this server is on hardware that is out of warranty.  All production data and applications needs to be moved to another server.  A newer server has been repurposed and is ready for the migration of data.  The new server name is Dagda for public web applications.  We also have a test server named Lilith.  We have three applications that will stay on a virtual machine called Aretha because they have encryption keys married to the server name.   In the interest of time, we will virtualize the physical Aretha and leave these three applications on this server temporarily along with the corresponding scheduled tasks.

Enrollment ManagementPM1302-004BronchoCard MidFirst BB Transact ID Card ProjectThis system will  be referred to as the BronchoCard.  The system offers multiple benefits to the university, some of the requested benefits include a new identification card system, attendance system, building/room access, and more.  This system also expands upon the point-of-sale capability which is already being used for dining services.  The scope of the project is (1) to implement a new ID Card system that will provide a new student ID; and (2) to provide a mechanism for event attendance.  When these two features are fully implemented, tested, and validated, the project is complete.  The end of the project will produce a recommendation for implementing additional features of the system and the associated time line for such implementation.09/30/2013
