Fighting in Pink: Breast Cancer Awareness Week

Paint the Campus Pink - Information Tables
Wednesday, October 17 - Friday, October 19
Nigh University Center, 2nd Floor - 11 a.m. - 1 p.m.

The Central community is invited to donate a dollar and decorate a ribbon in honor of someone who has been diagnosed with breast cancer or in remembrance of someone who has died from breast cancer. W.O.M.E.N. members will then use the ribbons to "paint the campus pink" on Sunday, October 21, 2012.

W.O.M.E.N. and the Women's Outreach Center invite the Central community to participate in a fun event that addresses a serious issue - breast cancer. UCO departments, offices, and student organizations are invited to decorate a bra in their own unique style to raise money for Susan G. * Tuesday, October 23 the Breast Dressed competition will be displayed at the Lady in Pink Breast Cancer Awareness Forum. Thursday, October 25 the Breast Dressed Competition will be displayed during the Thriving & Surviving Tribute Concert and Balloon Release

Lady in Pink Breast Cancer Awareness Forum
Tuesday, October 23
Nigh University Center, Cherokee- 12:00 p.m.  
 

Wear your favorite pink article of clothing or accessary and attend the interactive "Lady in Pink" Breast Cancer Awareness forum. This discussion will provide information about healthy living, which could reduce the chances of breast cancer, and will also provide in-depth information about what to look for in self-examinations. You will also hear from a breast cancer survivor who was diagnosed in her early thirties and how she is now dedicated to informing other young women about breast cancer. Light refreshments provided.

Pink & Dip - T-Shirt Tie Dye Day
Wednesday, October 24
Clock Tower - 11:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.

Tie-dye of the cause. For a donation, the UCO community will be invited to tie-dye t-shirts pink.  

Thriving & Surviving Tribute Concert and Balloon Release
Thursday, October 25
Broncho Lake, Blue Tent - 12:00 p.m. - 1:00 p.m.

Throughout the week faculty, staff, and students are invited to donate $1 for a balloon in memory or in honor of someone who has battled, died from or survived breast cancer. Join W.O.M.E.N. in collaboration with Big Pink and SPB as they conclude the week with music and inspirational speeches. The balloons will then be released.
