Volunteer and Service Learning Center - a Division of Student Affairs at the University of Central Oklahoma
Volunteer and Service Learning Center
The Volunteer and Service Learning Center at UCO provides diverse opportunities for students to perform meaningful service in the Edmond and Oklahoma City communities. The Center acts as a partner and resource for students, faculty and community members in developing and implementing volunteer and service learning projects. These efforts promote civic engagement by instilling a commitment to public life through communities of practice.
As part of the Volunteer and Service Learning Center's Social Justice Series focus Human Trafficking, we are collecting donations for No Boundaries International, a non-profit organization dedicated to fighting human trafficking. No Boundaries International subscribes to the thought: "Use a tangible item to meet an intangible need!" This line of thought allows its Street Outreach Team to approach a trafficking victim with a gift in hand-thereby breaking the ice and providing an open door for conversations to flow and relationships to begin being formed. The following donations are presented to victims as "care packages".If you would like to give, please bring donations to the Volunteer and Service Learning Center in NUC 212 during the month of February. Thank you!
New lip gloss
Small travel size perfume
Small seasonal chocolates
Pocket sized hand sanitizers
$10 Gas Cards for Street Outreach Team members as they drive to locations to reach trafficking victims
