Big Event Group/Organization Volunteer Application
The University of Central Oklahoma is hosting the 11th annual Big Event on March 9th, 2013. The Big Event is a campus wide day of service that ties our community and university together. We pair up with local non-profits and local neighborhoods to work on special projects that they would otherwise not be able to complete without our volunteers and supplies. For example, in the past we have provided the manpower and supplies to paint buildings, clean out donation closets, and make sidewalks.
Registration/check-in for Big Event will be held from 8:00-8:30am, with breakfast provided in the NUC Ballrooms. After a quick team meeting everyone will depart to their sites and will stay until the job is complete (about 3-4 hours).You can go by the UCO Volunteer and Service Learning Center (VSLC), 212 NUC, to turn in your forms and/or to receive more volunteer applications. Applications for volunteers are due March 1st by 5:00pm in the VSLC. Please fill in the following information for each volunteer along with the attached forms. Please note that work sites will be filled according to need, meaning, a group can be divided to help fill sites.
Schedule of Events
8:00 – 8:30 am Registration / t-shirt distribution
8:30 – 9:00 am Team meetings with Team Leaders
9:00 – 9:30 am Depart for sites*
*Some service sites will require an earlier or later arrival; your team leaders will be in touch regarding any specific scheduling requirements.
