August 20 is the the big day! The day we hope you will join us at the Volunteer and Service Learning Center’s 2013 Volunteer Fair between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
The University of Central Oklahoma recognizes its place as a metropolitan university, and we know that we must use all the resources we have available to contribute to the metro area. Our greatest resource is and always will be our students.
Which works great, because our students WANT to give back; They want to be active in the community. That’s where you come in. When you come to our Volunteer Fair, you will have the opportunity to talk with UCO students who will be excited to work with you in the future. The Volunteer Fair is sure to bring your organization exposure and recognition.
During the Fair, we'll be located around Broncho Lake, the busiest area on campus. The Volunteer and Service Learning Center will provide tents, tables and chairs for your organization. Lunch and refreshments will be provided.
Space is limited and we will be accepting booth registrations on a first-come, first-served basis. Please sign up online at the above website. A $30 registration fee is payable by cashor check via mail, or online by following the steps on our website. This fee covers our tent, table & chair rental costs and your parking. It also allows us to purchase a boxed lunch for up to two per booth and refreshments throughout the day. We will also be raffling exciting prizes to some lucky students! To enter the drawing, students must obtain 10 signatures from the booths at the fair.
Please park in the paid lot in front of the Nigh University Center – you won’t have to worry about paying for it. Feel free to bring as many materials as you would like to share with students or that you would like the VSLC to display in our offices. Physical spots for organizations as well as electricity for videos or laptops are available on a first come, first-served basis.
UCO is committed to service as an integral part of the educational experience and we hope to make the connections between our students and our community that will last throughout their lifetime. We hope you will join us in this commitment and we hope to see you at the Volunteer Fair! If you have any questions, please contact the VSLC at 405-974-2621 or by email at firstname.lastname@example.org.
