The TEASTM was developed to measure basic essential skills in the academic content area domains of Reading, Mathematics, Science, and English and Language Usage. These entry level skills were deemed important for nursing program applicants by a panel of nursing program curriculum professionals.
The TEASTM is a 170-item, four-option, multiple-choice assessment. Students will have a total of 209 minutes to take the exam: 58 minutes to answer 48 questions in the Reading section, 51 minutes to answer 34 questions in the Mathematics section, 66 minutes to answer 54 questions in the Science section, and 34 minutes to answer 34 questions in the English and Language Usage section. Students may take this exam a maximum of five times total, and must wait two weeks between tests to retest. A list of available test dates will appear when you begin the registration process.
The fee for the exam is non-refundable and is payable online only. To register or see the price of the exam, click on the "Register" button.
On Exam Day:
- Bring the RegisterBlast email admission ticket.
- Students must bring a valid, government-issued photo ID.
- Check in time will begin 15 minutes before the scheduled time of the exam. Late arrivals will not be admitted.
Prohibited Items: This list includes, but is not limited to, cell phones, purses, hats, watches, fitbits, glasses with built in electronics, or any other electronic devices. Calculators are not permitted for the TEAS exam. If the student arrives at the testing center possessing any of these items, they must store them in a locker provided by the testing center.
