Please come to the Testing Services office to see a list of CLEP and DSST exams accepted by UCO. Though UCO accepts only a limited number of DSST exams, many exams are offered, and are transferable to other institutions that accept them. DSST exams are administered at the Testing Center by appointment.
Extra-institutional examinations are only available for undergraduate credit. Credit earned by examination will not appear on the transcript until the student has successfully completed twelve or more semester credit hours of academic work at UCO.
Credit will be recorded with a neutral grade of P (pass) if the student earns a passing score. No grade is recorded if the student fails the exam. A failed DSST test may be repeated after six months has elapsed. A failed CLEP test may be repeated after three months has elapsed.
A student may not test out of a course in which he or she is currently enrolled.
Foreign Language essays and College Composition Modular essays are UCO specific and will be graded by their respective UCO department. After taking the computer-based portion of the exam, a student may schedule an appointment to take the essay at UCO.
A full list of CLEP testing sites is available at http://clep.collegeboard.org/search/test-centers.
There are two nonrefundable fees for each exam. One fee is paid to the testing company, and the other is UCO's proctoring fee. The proctoring fee is payable online only.
If you are taking the CLEP exam, the first fee will be paid on the CollegeBoard website.
If you are taking the DSST, you will bring your credit card the day of the exam to pay the other fee. After the proctoring fee has been paid for a DSST exam, please call 405.974.2388 at least 24 business hours in advance to schedule an appointment.
To register, see the price of the exams, or see a list of the exams offered click the "Register" button.
On the Day of the Exam:
The student must bring a government-issued, signed photo ID.
No cell phones will be allowed. Purses and other items will be stored in a locker during testing.
